At the COP29 summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, PT PLN (Persero) of Indonesia solidified five strategic partnerships with international allies to accelerate the country's energy transition. The agreements with United Kingdom Export Finance (UKEF), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd, Transportasi Gas Indonesia (TGI), and the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) aim to bolster funding, technology, and human resources for Indonesia's clean energy infrastructure development. Indonesia's commitment to adding 75 GW of renewable energy capacity in the next 15 years aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's strategy linking the energy transition to economic growth and poverty eradication. Partnerships involve green funding with UKEF, energy transition projects with KfW, hydrogen transportation development with TGI and Sembcorp, and renewable energy access initiatives with GEAPP. PLN's President Director stresses the necessity of international collaboration to reduce emissions, create employment opportunities, and enhance Indonesia's role in global sustainability efforts. These partnerships not only drive Indonesia's energy transition but also focus on improving energy access in remote regions, showcasing the country's dedication to a clean and sustainable energy future.
