- The hydrogen-to-power solution ensures weather-resilient, zero-emission, long-duration backup power to CFE's substations during grid outages.
- GenCell's partnership with CFE aims to complete the large-scale rollout by 2025, contributing to the utility's transition to a clean energy future.
- The project showcases GenCell's commitment to supporting net-zero standards, grid hardening, and energy security in alignment with a green energy vision.
GenCell Energy has announced a substantial order from Mexico's state-owned utility, Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), to supply and deploy multiple GenCell REX™ backup power units. This initiative, part of a multi-phase project, follows previous successful tenders and orders. The system is designed to provide immediate backup power during grid outages, offering weather-resilient, zero-emission, long-duration power to CFE's substations. GenCell's partnership with Gncell Energy de Mexico plans to complete the rollout by 2025, meeting strict cybersecurity and regulatory requirements. The GenCell REX units include advanced energy management software for centralized monitoring and management. Rami Reshef, GenCell's CEO, expressed pride in contributing to CFE's distribution network resilience and clean energy transition. The project aligns with GenCell's GreenFSG™ vision for a zero-emission circular economy. By developing hydrogen-to-power solutions, GenCell aims to help utilities fortify their systems with clean, failsafe backup power amidst climate disruptions.
