Hydrogène de France (HDF Energy) and partner-firms are targeting to invest $1.5 billion for the rollout of green hydrogen solutions across 15 project-sites in the Philippines, primarily in Mindanao. Mathieu Geze, president of HDF Energy Philippines, emphasized the dedication to establishing these projects, with a focus on regions like Mindanao that lack access to the main grid and heavily rely on diesel-fired facilities. The signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Energy and Mindanao Development Authority underlines the commitment to research and development initiatives for green hydrogen infrastructure. The use of Renewstable® technology will enable the deployment of multiple green hydrogen power plants, providing sustainable energy solutions and reducing dependency on fossil fuels. Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla and MinDA Secretary Leo Tereso Magno have expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the potential benefits for the entire Philippines. The agreement aims to drive research and development in efficient technologies for harnessing renewable energy sources and green hydrogen, promoting clean and baseload power generation.
