Mitsubishi Power, a brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), has successfully completed the Power Station 5 Block 4 gas turbine combined cycle power plant at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba). The plant features Mitsubishi Power's hydrogen-ready M701JAC gas turbine and steam turbine, showcasing high-efficiency power generation technology. Developed by a Mitsubishi Power consortium with SepcoIII, the project aims to expand Alba's power generation capacity in alignment with its growth and sustainability objectives, supporting Bahrain's economic development. The Mitsubishi Power M701JAC gas turbine, with a combined cycle output of 680.9 MW, represents a significant advancement in technology deployment for a Middle Eastern aluminum smelter, aiding Alba's decarbonization goals and ensuring energy security. The project completion ahead of schedule demonstrates Mitsubishi Power's expertise in delivering efficient and reliable power solutions for energy-intensive industries. Key officials from Alba and Mitsubishi Power attended the ceremony marking the project's completion. The partnership signifies a commitment to decarbonizing heavy industry and advancing Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 towards a sustainable energy future.
