Mitsubishi Power, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has secured an order to supply its M501JAC combined-cycle hydrogen-ready gas turbine for an industrial steam and electricity cogeneration plant project in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. The plant, part of the SATORP Strategic Expansion, is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and TotalEnergies. The 475 MW cogeneration power plant will be developed by a consortium led by TAQA and JERA, aiming to provide power for the petrochemical complex in Jubail. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 localization targets, with the gas turbine being assembled for the first time in Dammam. The Mitsubishi Power gas turbine is known for its reliability and efficiency, with the capability to blend hydrogen with natural gas, contributing to decarbonization efforts.
