NV Energy, operating as Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Power Company, submitted a joint application to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada for the approval of their 2025-2044 Triennial Integrated Resource Plan and 2025-2027 Energy Supply Plan. The application outlines NV Energy's strategy to address the State's clean energy goals, balance cost, reliability, and decarbonization, and meet the energy demands of customers in Nevada. The plan includes adding three power purchase agreements for solar-generating resources with co-located battery energy storage systems, installing two hydrogen-capable natural gas turbines, and constructing necessary transmission infrastructure to support these new resources and growing customer demand. To engage the public and stakeholders, a consumer session has been scheduled in Carson City and Las Vegas, allowing individuals to provide feedback and ask questions regarding the proposed energy initiatives. Additionally, hearings are set for November 2024, where parties will participate either in person or via Microsoft Teams/Zoom. Interested persons can also submit written comments electronically or through mail for consideration.
