Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) is making strides towards a zero-emissions future by incorporating 21 Ford E-Transit electric vans into its fleet. This move is in line with the company's ASPIRE 2045 sustainability strategy, aiming to have a 100% zero-emissions fleet by 2035. Currently, 38% of their over-the-road fleet already uses low- and zero-emissions energy sources. SoCalGas is working with automakers like Ford to develop innovative solutions, including a hydrogen fuel cell F-550 prototype, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in commercial vehicles. The company is also installing EV chargers powered by renewable electricity to support their sustainability goals. SoCalGas has received recognition for its efforts, being one of the first utilities in the U.S. to target net-zero GHG emissions by 2045. Through collaborations and investments in technologies like electric vans and hydrogen fuel cells, SoCalGas is moving towards a cleaner and more sustainable future in the energy sector.
