Gensol Engineering Ltd, in partnership with Matrix Gas and Renewables, has been awarded 237 MW of annual electrolyzer manufacturing capacity through India's production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. This win, achieved through competitive bidding with Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI), brings their cumulative capacity under the SECI tender to 300 MW, including a previous 63 MW allocation. The PLI scheme, a key component of the National Green Hydrogen Mission by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), aims to boost green hydrogen production in India. Gensol's extensive experience in solar projects and electric mobility has now expanded to include green hydrogen, while Matrix Gas & Renewables focuses on green hydrogen infrastructure. Both companies plan to leverage their skills and continue collaboration in the renewable energy sector. This significant milestone signifies India's commitment to achieving 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030.
