In Jaipur, the IYSERT Energy Research Company has entered a strategic collaboration with the Korean technology firm HEZ to advance green hydrogen production specifically for automobile use. This partnership, signed as an MoU, is expected to contribute significantly to enhancing sustainable energy solutions. Rakesh Biswas, the chairman of IYSERT, highlighted the importance of this partnership in driving fuel combustion efficiency up by 30-40% through the development of green hydrogen technology. The aim is to revolutionize the automotive industry by making it more eco-friendly and efficient. India's Green Hydrogen Mission, initiated in January 2023, aims to establish the country as a global leader in green hydrogen production and export. With a substantial investment of Rs 20,000 crore, the mission plans to kickstart electrolyzer manufacturing by mid-2026 and green hydrogen production by early 2027, targeting a capacity of 5 million tonnes by 2030. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen, stressed India's commitment to becoming a frontrunner in green hydrogen production, utilization, and export. He acknowledged the country's progress in green energy and highlighted its potential to leverage solar energy and power grid capabilities effectively. Additionally, Torrent Power is gearing up to invest Rs 7,200 crore in green hydrogen and ammonia production, alongside projects worth Rs 57,000 crore to achieve a renewable energy capacity of 10 gigawatts by 2030.
