Lhyfe Secures Funding for Renewable Hydrogen Production Facility in Southern Sweden
Key Ideas
- Lhyfe receives up to €11 million in funding from Klimatklivet to build a renewable hydrogen production facility in Vaggeryd, southern Sweden.
- The facility will supply hydrogen to refueling stations, the transportation sector, and industries for heating and production processes.
- It aims to produce 4.4 tons of green hydrogen per day, contributing to net-zero emissions by 2027 and creating a supply network in southern and central Sweden.
- The investment support covers approximately 35% of the total estimated project cost, supporting development, equipment procurement, and construction phases.
Lhyfe has secured funding of up to c.€11 million (SEK 130 million) from Klimatklivet to establish a renewable hydrogen production facility in Vaggeryd, Sweden. This initiative is part of the transition towards lower climate footprints in the transport sector, including the adoption of hydrogen-powered vehicles. The strategic location of Vaggeryd allows for easy distribution of hydrogen along major transport routes, connecting Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. The facility will not only cater to the transportation sector but also provide hydrogen for industrial purposes like heating and production processes. With a capacity to produce 4.4 tons of green hydrogen per day, the plant aims to support the market demand and contribute to achieving net-zero emissions by 2027. This investment, covering 35% of the total estimated project cost, will drive the development, equipment procurement, and construction work. Together with the grant received for another plant in Trelleborg, Lhyfe is establishing a robust supply network for renewable hydrogen in the region, furthering sustainable development and green technology in Sweden.
