AGA plans to power the electrolyzers using a 4.5 gigawatt solar plant, emphasizing zero-emission clean electricity production. The green hydrogen will be utilized in the production of green ammonia, addressing the increasing demand in sectors like agriculture, energy storage, transport, and industry. Plug intends to develop a detailed engineering package to attract investment and finalize financing, with the manufacturing of Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyzers scheduled to commence in 2027 pending a positive investment decision. The project is expected to be a major contributor to the global transition to net-zero emissions.
