The Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ohmium to establish a green electrolyzers and hydrogen factory in Chengalpattu district, with an investment of Rs 400 crores. This agreement aims to create 500 job opportunities in the region. The initiative is part of Tamil Nadu's strategy to attract investments and industrial growth to become a USD one trillion economy by 2030. During an official visit to the USA, Chief Minister Stalin also signed MoUs with other global companies, including Nokia, PayPal, and Google, for investments amounting to Rs 900 crores, which will generate 4,100 jobs in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai. The focus of these agreements is to leverage industrial development and employment generation in the state. Ohmium, a company specializing in green hydrogen production and PEM electrolyzer systems, has established a global presence in the USA, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. The event, attended by Minister for Industries T.R.B. Raaja and senior government officials, highlights Tamil Nadu's commitment to sustainable industrial growth and investment attraction.
