Thermax Ltd., based in Pune, India, and Ceres Power Holdings plc from Horsham, U.K., have joined forces in a strategic collaboration to boost the deployment of green hydrogen production technology. This collaboration involves a non-exclusive, global license agreement for Thermax to manufacture, sell, and service stack array modules (SAM) and other advanced electrolyzer modules based on Ceres' solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC) technology. The main focus of this partnership is to develop systems that are significantly more efficient than existing low-temperature electrolysis technologies, specifically targeting hard-to-abate industries such as ammonia, steel, refineries, and chemical production for decarbonization. Thermax plans to leverage its expertise in heat integration and waste heat recovery to create a pressurized SAM and SAM balance of modules (SBM), essential for multi-megawatt SOEC electrolyzer module development.
