The vehicle's fuel cell can produce up to 155kW, with excess heat utilized for cabin heating. BMW's Research and Innovation Center in Munich is tasked with building the iX5, incorporating technology from their Spartanburg factory in the USA. Winter testing near the Arctic Circle demonstrated the vehicle's resilience, performing well even in -20 degrees Celsius. Following production, the iX5 will embark on a promotional tour to showcase its zero-emissions powertrain solution to the public.
