BMW has announced a groundbreaking move in the automotive industry by confirming the development of an electric vehicle powered by a fuel cell, set to be launched by 2028. While Toyota has been selling hydrogen models like the Mirai for over a decade, BMW's upcoming hydrogen-powered vehicle is expected to be a reissue of an existing product, possibly not based on the X5. The new model will feature 700-bar hydrogen tanks with a six-kilogram capacity, offering an autonomy of 313 miles and a quick refueling time of 3 to 4 minutes. Furthermore, BMW's long-standing commitment to hydrogen vehicles, dating back to the 1970s, demonstrates a strategic focus on incorporating fuel cell technology.
