The Calistoga Resiliency Center, a groundbreaking energy storage project in Calistoga, United States, is making significant strides towards completion with the support of a $28 million investment from Eagle Point Credit Management. The project, spearheaded by Energy Vault, aims to deliver sustainable power to Calistoga during public safety power shutdowns by incorporating green hydrogen alongside lithium-ion battery technology. With a capacity of 293-MWh, the system can provide 48 hours of continuous energy and reach a peak power output of 8.5 MW, ensuring reliable power supply to the local community. By integrating Energy Vault's B-VAULT DC battery technology with hydrogen fuel cells, the center can offer instant response and grid-forming capabilities, enhancing energy resiliency. The involvement of Eagle Point Credit Management reflects the growing importance of resilient energy solutions amidst increasing extreme weather events globally. With mechanical completion achieved, the center is currently undergoing commissioning and is on track to commence full operation in the second quarter of 2025.
