First Hydrogen Corp. announced the successful trial of its hydrogen-powered fuel-cell vehicle (FCEV) with Amazon in London. The FCEV completed the trial with impressive results, delivering 3,462 packages over a distance of 535 km, receiving positive feedback from Amazon on its performance during the 8-10 hour shifts with frequent stops. Telematics data was crucial in evaluating the FCEV's performance, with projected range improvements expected based on real-world metrics. The trial provided insights into the comparison between hydrogen-powered fuel cells, battery electric vehicles, and internal combustion engine vehicles. The data collected during the trial will be utilized to make enhancements in various aspects of the FCEV, including predictive software to optimize energy management, pedal controller tuning for efficiency, and a new operation mode to reduce energy consumption during vehicle stops. First Hydrogen engineers aim to improve the FCEV's range beyond 450 km with these developments. The company, based in Vancouver, Montreal, and London UK, focuses on zero-emission vehicles and green hydrogen production. First Hydrogen is also working on a green hydrogen production facility and vehicle assembly factory in Shawinigan, Quebec, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable transportation solutions.
