The 2024 TEDA Automotive Forum in Tianjin featured a keynote speech by Feng Xingya, the general manager of GAC Group, where he highlighted the challenges and risks faced by China's auto industry at the critical '35 km point.' Xingya stressed the need for Chinese auto companies to implement new development concepts and achieve sustainable growth to drive China's modernization. GAC Group's strategy includes focusing on star products in various routes such as EVs, PHEVs, REEVs, HEVs, and hydrogen fuel cells, with plans to launch multiple PHEV and REEV models in 2025. Xingya also discussed the inclusive and diversified nature of the automotive industry in China, where different energy structures lead to a variety of technical routes for automobile power sources. Despite a decrease in operating revenue and net profit in the first half of 2024, GAC Group remains committed to new energy vehicles, with a significant portion of their own brand vehicles being new energy vehicles. The industry is expected to witness continued growth in new energy vehicles, with EVs, PHEVs, and REEVs playing key roles in the market's evolution.
