By acquiring Convion, HD Hyundai aims to enhance its fuel cell technology and expand its presence in Europe. The acquisition of Convion follows the purchase of Elcogen AS, an Estonian fuel cell company, indicating the group's commitment to hydrogen technology. HD Hyundai plans to establish a complete hydrogen value chain by 2030, from production to transportation, storage, and utilization. With the projected growth of the global hydrogen fuel cell market to 55 trillion won by 2040, the focus on hydrogen technology is seen as a strategic move.
