South Korea's Hyundai subsidiary Rotem has revealed its groundbreaking hydrogen-powered main battle tank, the K3, in collaboration with national technology research institutions. The K3 tank, set to enter production by 2040, will feature advanced technologies like improved stealth capabilities, autonomous driving, and an AI-based fire control system. The hydrogen fuel cells replacing traditional diesel engines offer benefits such as reduced heat signature, lower noise levels, improved acceleration, and easier maintenance. Additionally, the new tank will have a skeleton crew of three in a heavily armored capsule for enhanced crew protection. Armed with a 130mm smoothbore main gun, anti-tank guided missiles, and a remote-controlled weapons station, the K3 tank boasts superior firepower and advanced armor technology.
