The 2024 UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) Launchpad Programme concluded successfully with the presentation of eight innovative carbon solution technologies. These startups, selected from a pool of global applicants, participated in a three-month program aimed at advancing climate technologies such as carbon capture, waste-to-energy, hydrogen fuel cells, and carbon accounting. The event provided a platform for these companies to showcase their ideas to a diverse audience, including investors and industry leaders. Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, the President and CEO of UICCA, highlighted the UAE's role as an incubator for advanced technologies and emphasized the importance of supporting climate tech startups for effective energy transition. The participating startups, such as Waste-to-En, Magdrive, and Decahydron, expressed gratitude for the mentorship and networking opportunities provided by the program. The Carbon Solutions Cycle cohort received guidance from industry experts and climate innovation specialists, enhancing their market understanding and investor connections. The upcoming cycle of the UICCA's Launchpad Programme will focus on circular economy solutions in collaboration with the UAE's Ministry of Economy, targeting waste repurposing across various industrial sectors. This initiative aims to continue driving innovation and sustainability in the region.
