The concept design for the futuristic "flying hotel" airliner named Progress Eagle has recently been revealed, showcasing an innovative and luxurious experience for travelers. Designed by renowned Spanish designer Oscar Vinals, this enormous aircraft is set to carry up to 800 passengers with three massive floors, six engines, and a panoramic viewing lounge that includes a theater and a casino in the nose of the plane. With a wingspan of 315ft and a length of 263ft, the Progress Eagle surpasses the size of current commercial aircraft like the Airbus A380-800 and the Boeing 747. One of the most remarkable features of the aircraft is its unconventional fuel source. The design aims to utilize hydrogen fuel cells, along with solar panels on the roof and wings, and an onboard wind turbine to ensure energy efficiency. This approach could potentially allow the plane to remain airborne almost indefinitely, thanks to a unique power supply system based on solar-collecting satellites. For passengers seeking a premium flying experience, the special edition of the aircraft, named One Flight, will accommodate 300 passengers and offer lavish onboard facilities such as a restaurant, spa, cinema, shops, and a casino. The cockpit's second-floor location allows for an extended fuselage that creates a stunning viewing deck, providing passengers with surreal panoramic views at 40,000ft. While some of the technology required for the Progress Eagle is not currently available, the vision behind this concept pushes the boundaries of future air travel. Spanish designer Oscar Vinals envisions this aircraft as an evolution of his other innovative concepts, indicating a potential manufacturing timeline post-2030.
