The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) will host the 'Run on Less - Messy Middle' event in September, featuring four different powertrain solutions: diesel, natural gas, battery electric, and hydrogen fuel cells. The focus will be on long-haul, return-to-base, and over-the-road duty cycles to address the largest emitting market segment and clear up confusion in the industry. By tracking trucks from three fleets per powertrain category, NACFE aims to gather real-world data to bring clarity to this sector. The event will also include a 13-session bootcamp focusing on different vehicle technologies and fuel efficiency, with Geotab telematics devices being used in each truck for data collection. Through this initiative, NACFE seeks to contribute to enhancing fuel efficiency and understanding the diverse powertrain options available in the trucking industry.
