Sanlorenzo, an Italian shipyard, made marine history by launching the 164-foot steel superyacht, 50Steel, in La Spezia with a revolutionary green methanol fuel cell system. Partnering with Siemens Energy, the yacht's fuel cell setup converts biomethanol into hydrogen to generate emissions-free power, eliminating the need to store hydrogen onboard. The system can deliver up to 100kW, allowing the yacht to operate without engines or diesel generators for most of its usage time. The 50Steel also features an innovative Hidden Engine Room layout, creating more living space within the 500 GT limit and integrating propulsion systems cleverly. With sleek exterior designs by Zuccon International Project and luxurious interiors by Piero Lissoni, the yacht offers five decks of opulent spaces, including a gym, spa, and guest accommodations. The superyacht's elegant aesthetics, spacious decks, and advanced engineering signify a significant milestone in Sanlorenzo's commitment to innovation and sustainability, emphasizing a blend of luxury and eco-conscious marine engineering. Scheduled for delivery in July, the 50Steel represents a new era in superyacht design and performance, setting a standard for green technology integration in the luxury marine industry.
