Veer Voyage, a marine start-up, has recently made a significant step towards sustainable shipping by selecting a shipyard to build zero-emission container ships. These vessels, once completed, will be the first of their kind to sail across oceans, marking a milestone in eco-friendly maritime transportation. The design of these innovative ships by Veer incorporates a unique hull shape, DynaRig sails, and cutting-edge hydrogen fuel cells, setting a new standard for environmental performance in the industry. Described as achieving absolute zero emissions, the ships offer silent operation and are exempt from the European Union Emissions Trading System (EUETS). Veer has successfully secured EUR 50 million ($55 million) in funding for the construction of these groundbreaking ships and is actively raising additional capital to support the project.
