Forsee Power, a Paris-based company, has collaborated with Wrightbus, a bus manufacturer in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, to retrofit more than 1,000 diesel buses with electric drivetrains using their Zen Plus battery systems over the next three years. The partnership aims to provide innovative solutions for zero-emission transport. Wrightbus has launched NewPower, an operation in Bicester, England, to expedite the decarbonization process by converting older bus fleets affordably and efficiently. This initiative is expected to decarbonize 500 buses annually. Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales highlighted the importance of converting mid-life buses to immediately enhance air quality in the UK. The project is also set to create employment opportunities, with 22 jobs initially and a projected increase to 65 staff by the end of the year. The NewPower team includes experienced hires from prestigious automotive companies.
