BP's blue hydrogen production facility in Teesside, known as H2Teesside, is set to become one of the largest blue hydrogen production sites in the UK. Costain's engineering team is working on the front-end engineering and design for a 31km hydrogen pipeline network to distribute purified and dehydrated hydrogen to industrial end users. This project, part of the East Coast Cluster, is expected to produce 160,000 tonnes of low carbon hydrogen yearly, aiming to replace natural gas consumption in industries. Technip Energies will handle the FEED for the hydrogen production site to establish execution methodology, schedule, and costs. Costain's completion of the FEED for the onshore CO2 pipeline demonstrates its progress in decarbonization efforts.
