Luxembourg's government is set to introduce a substantial €400 million incentive package to drive companies away from polluting hydrocarbons towards greener alternatives like electricity and hydrogen power. The goal is to support the ecological and energy transition of Luxembourg companies, in line with climate objectives. The package will prioritize the development of green-friendly technologies such as hydrogen networks and distributed heating and cooling systems. Financial aid will be allocated to projects that meet decarbonisation priorities and technologies, excluding companies involved in fossil fuel production, consumption, or transportation. The initiative aims to cut red tape by expediting funding applications under €100,000 and implementing a default approval principle. Additionally, the plan includes extending subsidies for green energy systems in homes, although subsidies for solar panels will be reduced.
