Heavy Vehicle Machinery Solutions (HVMS), based in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, has partnered with Canadian company Diesel Tech Industries to establish installation facilities for the Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System in the country. This dual-fuel technology aims to lower emissions and improve operational efficiency in diesel-powered vehicles. HVMS, formed in October 2022 under the leadership of directors Scott Hale, Richard Gatward, and business development manager Mark Irving, is expanding its global client base across Australasia, Pacific Islands, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The partnership will allow HVMS to leverage its expertise in procurement, installation, and compliance to assist New Zealand companies in transitioning to cleaner transport solutions through vehicle conversions and educational initiatives. The Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System offers a cost-effective solution by retro fitting the technology to existing diesel engines while retaining all factory components and emission systems.
HVMS aims to promote the adoption of the Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System by providing installation, integration, and training services. According to Diesel Tech Industries, this partnership will drive sustainable transportation solutions and establish new standards in emissions reduction and environmental stewardship. The system is seen as a viable dual-fuel product for fleet owners to cut diesel use and reduce emissions while waiting for 100% hydrogen OEM vehicles to become more accessible and affordable. The concept of dual fuel is resonating well with heavy fleet owners, and the availability of the Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System is expected to be a gamechanger in New Zealand's decarbonisation efforts.
