Helen Oy, a major energy company in Finland, is teaming up with MAN Energy Solutions and H-TEC SYSTEMS to establish a 3-megawatt green hydrogen production facility in Helsinki. This groundbreaking project, named 3H2, will be situated close to Helsinki's district heating network and Vuosaari Harbour. The collaboration will see MAN Energy Solutions leading the engineering, procurement, and construction of the hydrogen section of the plant, along with the delivery and installation of hydrogen-related equipment. H-TEC SYSTEMS will supply the PEM electrolysers at the heart of the plant, capable of producing 1,350 kilograms of green hydrogen daily from renewable electricity provided by Helen's sources. The produced hydrogen will be distributed to a nearby refuelling station and industrial customers. The project signifies a unique integration of various sectors to enhance energy system flexibility and meet large-scale hydrogen production needs. The partnership underlines the significance of green hydrogen in achieving climate neutrality. Through PEM electrolysis, the plant ensures high-purity hydrogen production suitable for diverse applications, offering a sustainable solution for the future energy landscape.
