The company claims that the new technology will not only enhance safety but also offer cost advantages, as the pipes can be produced and transported at much longer lengths than metal pipes. LS Cable & System is also developing real-time diagnostic technology for monitoring potential issues with the hydrogen pipes. The Chief Technology Officer highlighted the significance of non-metallic hydrogen pipes in ushering in the hydrogen economy era. Leveraging its cable production expertise, the company plans to expand its business to encompass the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of hydrogen pipes, providing comprehensive solutions. The project timeline includes prototype production by 2026 and verification testing by 2028. Additionally, LS Cable & System has received a funding boost for establishing a large subsea cable factory in the US, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and business expansion in the field of advanced cable technologies.
