Ohmium Electrolysers to Produce Green Hydrogen in Sicilian Petrochemical Site
Key Ideas
- 4MW of PEM electrolysers to be installed in Sicilian petrochemical site, producing 700 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
- Project by Res Integra to clean up industrial operations and mobility in Siracusa industrial area.
- Ohmium electrolysers to support decarbonisation efforts without specific offtakers or use cases mentioned.
- Start-up date undisclosed for the plant using modular 0.5MW PEM electrolyser systems.
A 4MW installation of PEM electrolysers is set to transform a Sicilian petrochemical site in Siracusa, Italy. The project by Res Integra aims to produce up to 700 tonnes of green hydrogen per year to enhance both industrial operations and mobility in the region. The electrolysers, provided by Ohmium, will be part of an undisclosed facility in the Siracusa industrial area. Despite not specifying offtakers or exact utilization, the partners assure that the hydrogen generated will contribute to the decarbonisation of industrial activities and transportation in the area. Ohmium's modular 0.5MW PEM electrolyser systems offer scalability by allowing them to be interconnected to form larger plants. While the start-up date for the plant remains undisclosed, there is anticipation for Ohmium to commence shipping its electrolysers.
