UK-based shipowner Purus has joined forces with Bluewater Energy Services to offer floating storage and offloading (FSO) solutions tailored for low-carbon ammonia, clean hydrogen, and carbon capture markets. This partnership aims to address the distribution challenges of low-carbon fuels by introducing bespoke offshore storage terminals that provide greater flexibility and speed-to-market compared to traditional onshore tanks. By combining their expertise, the companies will provide end-to-end solutions for engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance of clean energy FSOs, enabling long-term access to new markets in the energy transition sector. Purus' focus on LNG, LPG, ammonia, and ethane carriers is now supplemented with a comprehensive floating pipeline solution for energy transition cargoes. Bluewater's venture into the clean energy FSO business complements its existing fleet of five FPSOs and aligns with its strategy to enhance offshore solutions, including fleet renewal in the renewable energy era.
