Hyundai, in partnership with its subsidiary Glovis America, is set to introduce the Xcient hydrogen fuel-cell Class 8 heavy-duty trucks in Georgia. These trucks will be responsible for transporting vehicle parts from HMGMA suppliers to the Hyundai factory in the region. The 21 Xcient trucks will make up a significant portion of the Glovis America truck fleet at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA). Equipped with two 90 kW hydrogen fuel cell systems and a 350 kW electric motor, the Xcient trucks offer a range of over 450 miles. To support these trucks, a mobile hydrogen refueling station will be installed at the Megasite in Georgia, with future plans for a permanent hydrogen production and refueling station. Oscar Kwon, the CEO of HMGMA, expressed the commitment to sustainable transportation solutions with the introduction of the Hyundai Xcient hydrogen fuel-cell trucks, emphasizing their zero emissions and cleaner alternative for freight logistics in manufacturing facilities.
