The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) has unveiled the five finalists for the 2024 Collier Trophy, a highly esteemed award in the realm of aeronautics and astronautics. The nominees showcase a variety of groundbreaking advancements in the field, ranging from sustainable aviation to space exploration. Blue Condor, Gulfstream G700, Parker Solar Probe Team, Skyryse One, and X-37B have been recognized for their significant contributions to improving the performance, efficiency, and safety of air and space vehicles. The diverse projects include work on zero-carbon-emission turbine aircraft, model-based certification, sun corona spacecraft operations, fully-automated hover technology, and sustained space maneuver. Each finalist will present their nomination to the Collier selection committee in Washington, D.C., with the ultimate recipient being announced on March 25. The winner will have their name engraved on the Collier Trophy, a symbol of excellence in aviation, displayed at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The award ceremony, scheduled for June 12, will celebrate the recipient's outstanding achievements and further inspire innovation in the aerospace industry.
