The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has taken a significant step towards advancing the development of green hydrogen by issuing guidelines for funding testing facilities, infrastructure, and institutional support. These guidelines are designed to aid in the identification of existing gaps in testing facilities for components, technologies, and processes related to green hydrogen and its derivatives. The initiative also focuses on the creation of new testing facilities and upgrading existing ones to ensure the safety and security of operations in the green hydrogen value chain. With a total budgetary outlay of ₹200 crore earmarked for implementation until the financial year 2025-26, this scheme is part of the larger Rs 19,744 crore allocated under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The National Institute of Solar Energy will play a crucial role as the implementation agency for this scheme, further emphasizing the government's commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative energy solutions.
