Hamburg Airport is making significant strides towards sustainable and climate-friendly travel by introducing new e-mobility infrastructure. The airport has installed 168 e-charging points in the P4 multi-storey car park, with plans for additional 39 points by late 2024. These charging facilities are provided to passengers at no extra cost, further promoting the use of electric vehicles. Christian Kunsch, Managing Director, highlighted the airport's commitment to becoming carbon-neutral by 2035, aiming for emission-free ground operations. The airport's focus on e-mobility extends to supporting business travelers and car-sharing providers, offering convenient services and contributing to a greener transportation ecosystem. Future plans involve establishing a photovoltaic fast-charging park and upgrading existing infrastructure for green flying, including the development of green hydrogen.
