Karlsruhe-based INERATEC has secured a significant €70 million investment to boost its e-fuel production efforts. The funding, backed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, will support the development of Europe's largest carbon-neutral e-fuel plant in Frankfurt, set to commence operations in 2025. INERATEC, established in 2016, specializes in synthetic fuel production using renewable hydrogen and captured CO₂ to manufacture e-kerosene, CO₂-neutral gasoline, clean diesel, and other sustainable alternatives. The company's strategic positioning aligns with the EU's ReFuelEU Aviation regulation, aiming for significant proportions of synthetic jet fuel by 2030 and 2050.
