NTPC Green Energy Ltd's shares will be in focus as they announced a collaboration with Honeywell UOP India Pvt Ltd to explore the production of sustainable aviation fuel. The companies will conduct a feasibility study using Honeywell's eFining technology and NTPC's green hydrogen and CO2 emissions. This initiative is part of NTPC Green Energy's Green Hydrogen Hub project in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh, aiming to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and green chemicals. The hub, once fully operational, will utilize 7 GW of renewable energy and export over 2.5 million tons of green chemicals annually. This collaboration is a significant move towards decarbonising the aviation sector and supports NTPC's renewable energy goals. The project is also expected to bring a significant investment to the state and create employment opportunities while contributing to India's non-fossil energy capacity target. Honeywell UOP's sustainable aviation fuel, when blended with petroleum-based jet fuel, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly, aligning with global sustainability goals. Despite a slight drop in NTPC Green Energy's stock price, the collaboration signifies a positive development in the renewable energy and aviation sectors.
