RTX has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Netherlands Aerospace Group (NAG) to collaborate on technology research and development for sustainable aviation. The partnership will involve RTX's businesses, Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney, working with Dutch aerospace companies and research institutions to develop advanced technologies. Areas of collaboration include advanced manufacturing processes, innovative propulsion technologies such as hydrogen and hybrid-electric systems, aircraft electrification, and energy management. The MOU aims to assess and validate the impact of sustainable aviation solutions. The Chief Technology Officer for RTX highlighted the importance of reducing the aviation industry's carbon footprint and praised the collaboration as a means to drive innovation. The Managing Director of the Netherlands Aerospace Group also emphasized the benefits of the partnership for developing new aerospace technologies and enhancing collaboration between organizations in the Netherlands, Europe, and North America. RTX has a long-standing presence in the Netherlands and previously announced a master research agreement with Delft University of Technology for sustainable aviation research. The partnership is expected to contribute to technological breakthroughs for the European aerospace and defense industry, supporting sustainability and innovation in the sector.
