Sirius Aviation, in collaboration with BMW Designworks, unveiled the CEO Jet, a hydrogen-powered e-VTOL aircraft with 28 ducted fans, at the MOVE Expo in London. The Swiss aviation startup, Sirius Aviation AG, is focusing on developing two versions of a hydrogen-electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft. The CEO Jet, designed in partnership with BMW Designworks and the Sauber Group, aims to offer a luxurious flight experience for passengers. The aircraft features 28 ducted fans that enable vertical take-off and horizontal flight, with each fan being driven by its motor. The hydrogen-electric powertrain of the aircraft is reported to be 70% ready and tested up to Technology Readiness Level 7. The system includes a liquid hydrogen fuel tank, a fuel cell stack charging battery banks, and a booster battery pack for extra power, providing a range of 1,150 miles per trip. The interior of the CEO Jet boasts a stripped-back cockpit, spacious seating for three passengers, a digital display showing flight data, and amenities like side tables, cup holders, and charging trays. Sirius Aviation aims for serial manufacturing of the CEO Jet from 2028. Additionally, they introduced the 'Adventure Jet,' a variant designed for varied scenarios and equipped with features like inflatable pontoons, hawk-eye cameras, and off-grid tools. The unveiling event also hinted at future designs catering to luxury travelers and highlighted the company's vision for the future of sustainable aviation.
