Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Rolls-Royce have expanded their partnership to focus on advancing sustainable aviation through research into hydrogen fuel systems. The collaboration between the two companies aims to address the critical need for zero-carbon solutions in the aviation industry as it works towards achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. TCS will leverage its expertise in the aircraft manufacturing sector to support Rolls-Royce in various engineering tasks related to hydrogen technology. These tasks include system design, component design, supply chain support, and program management. The primary challenges that the collaborative efforts will focus on overcoming are related to fuel combustion, fuel delivery, and integrating fuel systems with aircraft engines to ensure safe operation. Alan Newby, Rolls-Royce's Director of Research and Technology, expressed enthusiasm about this extended partnership, emphasizing the value of TCS's engineering skills in meeting their technology goals.
