A recent focus has been on direct air capture technology, with a partnership with Heirloom established to purchase up to 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide removal. This innovative process involves utilizing limestone to capture carbon directly from the atmosphere. United Airlines views this as a crucial step in meeting its sustainability targets.
