France has introduced the ZULU 06, the first hydrogen-powered river vessel on the Seine in Paris, as a landmark achievement in sustainable transport. The vessel, 55m long with a cargo capacity of 400 tonnes, promotes innovative and decarbonized mobility. Minister of Transport François Durovray praised the ZULU 06 for symbolizing France's commitment to green mobility through public and private collaboration. Designed by LMG Marin and powered by ABB Marine & Ports with hydrogen fuel cells from Ballard, the vessel operates for seven days without refueling, setting new efficiency standards. The project, part of the EU-funded FLAGSHIPS initiative, focuses on zero-emission maritime transport, emphasizing the benefits of collaboration among European partners. Clean Hydrogen Partnership's support highlights the EU's role in advancing hydrogen technologies for environmental sustainability in waterborne transportation.
