PowerCell Group has announced the signing of a substantial order for marine fuel cell systems with a major Italian marine OEM manufacturer, amounting to approximately SEK 165 million. The order comprises 56 units of the Marine System 225 intended for installation on commercial cruise ships, with a total power capacity exceeding 6.3 MW. In addition to providing auxiliary power to the ships' internal electricity systems, the fuel cell systems are designed to reduce noise emissions, offering a more environmentally friendly solution. Notably, this order represents a key advancement in the decarbonisation of the marine industry, with the ship installation set to feature one of the largest marine hydrogen fuel cell systems globally.
