The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has signed an agreement with CNH2 (C.N.E. Hydrogen and Fuel Cells) to promote research, technological development, and implementation of hydrogen in the Valencian docks. This agreement focuses on establishing a pilot station for mobile refueling of hydrogen in the north dock 'Xità'. The station is currently being used by hydrogen-powered vehicles operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company Terminal Valencia, S.A. (MSC) and Valencia Terminal Europa, S.A. (VTE). Specially trained port personnel are responsible for operating these vehicles. The partnership between PAV and CNH2 is part of the European H2PORTS project, funded by the European Commission, to advance hydrogen technology in ports. The agreement aims to continue the utilization of a 446m2 area of port public domain for hydrogen initiatives. Alongside hydrogen advancements, the Port Authority of Valencia has approved agreements related to port operations, such as the transactional agreement with Arcelor Mittal España S.A. for the Port of Sagunto. The positive financial performance of Valenciaport, with a net result of 26,327,927.73 euros and a turnover of 141.3 million euros, has also been highlighted.
