Viking has proudly unveiled its latest addition to its ocean fleet, the Viking Vela, with 499 staterooms capable of accommodating 998 passengers. This small ship, like all Viking ocean ships, will commence its maiden voyages in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. Viking Chairman and CEO, Torstein Hagen, expressed pride in the company's partnership with Fincantieri, emphasizing the elegance of their ocean ships. While the Viking Vela currently operates on a traditional propulsion platform, it is designed to be hydrogen-ready for potential future upgrades. The delivery ceremony in Ancona, Italy, highlighted the successful collaboration between Viking and Fincantieri.
