This initiative, aiming to establish Abu Dhabi as a green public transport zone by 2030, includes the evaluation and implementation of hydrogen and electricity technologies within the city's transport infrastructure. The programme not only focuses on incorporating environmentally friendly technologies but also provides essential training for drivers and technicians, ensuring the smooth operation of these innovative buses. By targeting a reduction of over 100,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from public transport by 2030, Abu Dhabi is demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Moreover, the Green Buses Programme serves as a model of successful collaboration between public and private entities in line with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
