Abu Dhabi Mobility announced the conversion of Route No.65 into a green service powered by advanced technologies like hydrogen and electric energy, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and lead in sustainable urban mobility. This initiative is part of a strategic plan to transform Abu Dhabi into a Public Transport Green Zone by 2030, with the goal of decarbonising 50% of the city's public transport. The shift to green buses on Route No.65 is crucial as it serves as one of the most important public transport routes, connecting Marina Mall to Al Reem Island, accommodating 6,000 passengers daily and covering 2,000km per day. By achieving this transformation, Abu Dhabi Mobility aims to provide environmentally friendly transport solutions while ensuring passenger comfort and reducing carbon footprints. The expansion of green buses to other routes like Route 160 and Route A2 further reinforces Abu Dhabi's commitment to sustainability, utilizing technologies like hydrogen fuel cells for zero-emission operations.
