The Cannes Lérins urban community in France has expanded its eco-friendly transportation fleet by ordering twelve GX 337 H2 Linium fuel cell buses from Iveco. These buses, featuring advanced technology from Hyundai and a 69 kWh battery pack, will join the existing fleet of battery-electric vehicles. The new buses are set to operate on the Palm Bus network, providing zero-emission transportation in Cannes. To support refuelling, a hydrogen production plant will be constructed in Cannes, marking a pioneering initiative in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The President of the urban community, David Lisnard, aims to have 41 buses refuelled with hydrogen once the production plant is operational. The decision to incorporate hydrogen buses reflects a commitment to sustainable urban development and showcases the community's efforts towards cleaner public transportation solutions. Iveco, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, expressed enthusiasm for being chosen for this project, highlighting their dedication to providing cutting-edge zero-emission mobility solutions, particularly in the field of hydrogen technology.
